Two weeks ago, our Common Ground AmeriCorps participated in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Congress created this day of service in 1994 when it appointed the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS)  to lead the national effort. Now, each MLK Day is observed as “a day on, not a day off” across the United States. Here is a glimpse at some of the great work our AmeriCorps members did across the state of Nebraska!

Not pictured, AmeriCorps member Zoe Vallas volunteered at Blue Valley Community Action in York, and member Camaura Scott served at Thrift Connection in North Platte.
